A Post Birthday Celebration with the Artistikong Kabataan Philippines

Another post birthday celeb for the baby! How come his social life is more active than mine? His one week of activities is equivalent to  year of mine and he’s not yet done. He’s got a couple or so more socializing lined up for the rest of the week.

The Little Creature’s Birthday E-vite:

Three nights before his big day, we packed the goodies to be given away to the beneficiaries of the Artistikong Kabataan Philippines.

There’s OC Duhddy forming a battalion of goodies (I had to resist the urge to kick them all in disarray), there’s Shasha Cat the Drill Sergeant, and there’s the Little Creature Inspector General and Quality Control Specialist (Make fast! Make fast, Duhddy! There’s one bag missing a zipper!).

October 21 morning preparations:

Bath time. He’s going to receive a lot of hugs and kisses. He has to smell nice, of course.

OOTD. This is the first time we have bought really nice clothes for Little C so we splurged a bit. Shirt and denim pants from Zara, shoes that he obviously can’t walk in but looked really cute from Payless Shoe Source, Pampers (duh), and that really cute aviator hat that I keep forcing on him that he hates. The OOTD of course, won’t be complete without the harness!

Party time at 2pm! We knew we would not be able to eat with the guests so we gobbled down Big Macs and Fries before the party. Yes, that included the Little Crit. It’s his cheat day again.

Look at that cute spread below! There’s the default tarpaulin, the prizes for the games, the party favors, the candies… but something seems to be missing… oh, right, the birthday cake.

It’s just a cake anyway. A cake is full of sugar and bad calories and artificial coloring and choking hazards, and the Little Creature wouldn’t really notice it missing <— excuse of parents who suck at parenthood.

We had to make do with the little lollipop bouquet to stand in as cake. Notice that poor looking little candle to the right of the lollipops. Thanks to Duhddy’s pretty sisters, if it weren’t for those homemade lollies, we’d probably just stick the little candle on the cheeseburger (or in Duhddy’s ear).

Oh, but what a treat for the heart. Look at all those crazy happy kids.

Gift distribution after the games.

Meet The Little Creature’s special guests Birdie, Grimace… He does so like Birdie, maybe because of the many pet birds at home.

… and then there’s the prettiest guest of them all, Ms. Ana Karina Jardin, the founder of Artistikong Kabataan. Of course, we really weren’t expecting anything in return so when Ms. Jardin gave the Little Creature one of her original paintings of A Mother and Child, I was amazed and I got teary eyed, hehe, my eye bags grew red and got even bigger. Yuck, hence the rotated figure 8 on my face.

What a very beautiful gift. But where is the Father in the picture? Asked Duhddy jealously. Umm… in the bedroom, sleeping like a log?

The painting up close.

Thank you again for the beautiful painting!

Whew! the Little Creature most likely didn’t know what was happening but he seemed entertained by the many happy kids around.

Being a 1 year old is very exhausting.

Our heartfelt thanks to all our creature friends and families who have overloaded the bags with school supplies, toys, and other treats and who put fortyeleven thousand watts of smiles on the faces of all the little creatures of Payatas.

Special thanks to friend RVP and her Plus 1 for collecting pre-loved kiddie clothes from whomever to give to the kids.
